Stationary accretion disks launching super fast-magnetosonic MHD jets

چکیده
We present self-similar models of resistive viscous Keplerian disks driving non-relativistic magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) jets becoming super fastmagnetosonic. We show that in order to obtain such solutions, the thermal pressure must be a sizeable fraction of the poloidal magnetic pressure at the Alfvén surface. These steady solutions which undergo a recollimation shock causally disconnected from the driving engine, account for structures with a high temperature plasma in the sub-Alfvénic region. We suggest that only unsteady outflows with typical time-scales of several disk dynamical time-scales can be produced if the suitable pressure conditions are not fulfilled. Magnetized Accretion - Ejection Structures : 2 . 5 D MHD simulations of continuous Ideal Jet launching from resistive accretion disks
We present numerical magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations of a magnetized accretion disk launching trans-Alfvénic jets. These simulations, performed in a 2.5 dimensional time-dependent polytropic resistive MHD framework , model a resistive accretion disk threaded by an initial vertical magnetic field. The resistivity is only important inside the disk, and is prescribed as η = α m V A H exp(−2Z...
متن کاملLaunching of Jets and the Vertical Structure of Accretion Disks
The launching of magnetohydrodynamic outflows from accretion disks is considered. We formulate a model for the local vertical structure of a thin disk threaded by a poloidal magnetic field of dipolar symmetry. The model consists of an optically thick disk matched to an isothermal atmosphere. The disk is supposed to be turbulent and possesses an effective viscosity and an effective magnetic diff...
متن کاملStanding Shocks in Trans-magnetosonic Accretion Flows onto a Black Hole
Fast and slow magnetosonic shock formation is presented for stationary and axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) accretion flows onto a black hole. The shocked black hole accretion solution must pass through magnetosonic points at some locations outside and inside the shock location. We analyze critical conditions at the magnetosonic points and the shock conditions. Then, we show the restric...
متن کاملMHD Shock Conditions for Accreting Plasma onto Kerr Black Holes - I
We extend the work by Appl and Camenzind (1988) for special relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) jets, to fully general relativistic studies of the standing shock formation for accreting MHD plasma in a rotating, stationary and axisymmetric black hole magnetosphere. All the postshock physical quantities are expressed in terms of the relativistic compression ratio, which can be obtained in ter...
متن کاملCollimation of Highly Variable Magnetohydrodynamic Disturbances around a Rotating Black Hole
We have studied non-stationary and non-axisymmetric perturbations of a magnetohydrodynamic accretion onto a rotating (Kerr) black hole. Assuming that the magnetic field dominates the plasma accretion, we find that the accretion suffers a large radial acceleration resulting from the Lorentz force, and becomes highly variable compared with the electromagnetic field there. In fact, we further find...
